About

Bill

Bill Anderson began his career as a wealth manager and financial planner following a 21-year career as an Army officer. He enjoyed the honor of serving with and commanding soldiers and officers. He considers his time serving as an assistant professor of systems engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, as a career highlight.

He became a financial advisor in Huntsville, Alabama, and was selected to serve as one of three advisors by one of the largest financial firms in the industry and serve on their investment policy committee. In this role, he provided insight on how the firm’s guidance and advice could help clients work toward achieving their long-term financial goals.

In 2023, Bill joined Raymond James as a financial advisor. That partnership means that today, he and his clients have access to the sophisticated financial resources and leading-edge technology of one of the largest independent full-service financial firms in the United States. Bill has the freedom to help his clients meet the specific goals that matter to them most.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in space operations from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business information systems from the University of Alabama. He holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ (AAMS™) designation and Certified Financial Planner® Certification.

Bill relocated to Salt Lake City to be closer to family where he continues to serve his clients throughout the country. He previously coached community youth football teams in Alabama and Utah and has served on the board of a school dedicated to teaching parenting and language skills to Salt Lake City’s immigrant population. Bill has also mentored several new advisors seeking to improve their technical skills and service to clients.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Center for Financial Planning, Inc. owns and licenses the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner®, and CFP® (with plaque design) in the United States to Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., which authorizes individuals who successfully complete the organization’s initial and ongoing certification requirements to use the certification marks.

AAMS® and Accredited Asset Management Specialist℠ are registered service marks of the College for Financial Planning.
